Paul Carpenter Associates contacted ButterJAM to create a system to serve as an online live monitor of the Port Authority of NY/NJ Bus Terminal on 8th and 42nd street. The system is to monitor and track the Noise Environmental Performance Commitments (EPCs) continuously. The customized system is based off ButterJAM’s proprietary neWare content management engine. The system takes live noise data generated from monitors placed onsite and processes the raw data into charts, interactive graphs, and audio playback as specified by the client. Alerts are automatically generated via email in instances of potential noise exceedance as well as service interruption at the busy bus terminal site. Monthly PDF reports are generated with statistical data showing an overview of the month’s data in a easy-to-read tabular format. ButterJAM’s system processes and stores over 80,000 new data records daily and 100MB of new data every week with 2GB of weekly traffic and over 10 online users.
